It shouldn’t be a matter of surprise if there exists a floating post office in the world  as we know about floating lake, floating mosque and floating market. 

It is located in the enchanting city of Srinagar in Kashmir. Resides gracefully on a vast houseboat amidst the breathtaking panorama of snow-capped mountains surrounding Dal Lake.

In fact, the surprising factor is not only in India, but also in the world, it is the only floating post office. So, it is a unique piece of architecture!

At first look,one might think it’s a normal shikara boat as is quite a common sight in the city, 

but when it is looked closely, the official red and yellow logo of the Indian Post Office will be at notice. There is also a board that says ‘Floating Post Office, Dal Lake’.
